In Memory of Samson

“I live on a big round ball
I never do dream I may fall
And even one day if I do
Well I’ll jump up and smile back at you
And even the high must lay low
But when I do fall I will be glad to go
Yes when I do fall I will be glad to go”
-Jimmy Buffett

Sam defied gravity every day of his life. Starving and left for dead. We brought him home and nursed him back to health. For that, he will be ever grateful to his family. Sam lived every day to make sure we were happy and safe. He protected and watched over all of us. Never once needed reprimanding…instead he listened to every word I said and knew exactly what I was saying. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I am blessed to have shared the past eight years of my life with him…and I will never meet another like him. He was truly my best friend….and for that I will be forever grateful to him. He will always be smiling back at me. Carry on Samson…

We said goodbye today to the best dog I will ever know. Sam was loving and loyal to the very end. Despite the fact that cancer had robbed him of his strength, he still managed to make it out to play with the kids in the hose one last time and “protect” us from the deer in our yard last night. It’s been a hard day, but our family just gained the best guardian angel anyone could ask for. Rest in peace Samson. You will be greatly missed my friend.
