We got Snippet when he was 8 weeks old, just a puppy. One look at that worried little face and we were lost. My daughter and I both wanted him immediately. He was so beautiful and smart! My daughter named him because “he has a snippet of brown, a snippet of black, and a snippet of white” fur. She commented that he had a snowman on his back – that’s what it looked like! He won $100 from Planet’s funniest animals from a video we sent them where he was filmed jumping up and down and barking at a video of himself jumping up and down barking at animals on TV! He was also a big scaredy-cat, afraid of even flies! He kept that worried look he had when he was just a puppy until he was 15 years old. He would run and hide if a fly got in the house! He would cry and cry if something was in the way and he didn’t have a clear path – most dogs would just jump over or push past, but not Snippet. If we were threatened, though, he was as brave as you could wish for – he would never let anyone hurt us, even if he had to fight a big animal like a deer – he wasn’t afraid then! Our nicknames for him were Snipper, Snippety-doo-dah, Snipperoo, and Snipperdoodle. My favorite memories are playing catch with him – (he would wrap a soft frisbee around a ball and bring me both!) or with him cuddled up in the crook of my legs asleep, his chin on my leg. I loved that. I miss him so much. I have a place in my back yard where he used to lie in the monkey grass to cool off – that is his spot. I have a big white rock there now to mark his place. Bye bye, my Snipperdoodle, I love you so much. Dream happy dreams until I see you again!

Jack was a precious black Cocker Spaniel, with brown eyebrows and big feet. Ten years ago, I found Jack running around the parking lot at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. I was preparing to attend mass, when I saw this puppy running towards the road. I called, “Come here”. He ran towards me and jumped in my arms. He was reunited with the owner, but, a day later, she called me to see if I wanted Jack. I told her that I would be there in 5 minutes to get Jack. We had almost ten wonderful years together. Jack loved his toys. He loved car rides.
On March 30, 2013, he became seriously ill. I took him to Cobb Emergency. He had a fever of 106. They worked with him, and then I got him to GVS. Ultrasound showed an inoperable abdominal mass. It was suggested that he go to the Bridge that day. He seemed too perky, as antibiotics were making him feel better. I brought him home. He was still quite ill, but, about 5 days later, he was back to his old self. We had 60 wonderful days together. I rarely left his side during those days. We went to Acworth Beach at sunset each evening. He was not much interested in food, but I could coax him to eat some things, especially his treats. I was happy that he ate anything. He actually ate my kitty’s food and enjoyed it.
A chunk of my heart is missing. Jack was a pure spirit. I know that he is with all of my others who have gone to Heaven. I am sure that they greeted him, along with Jesus, with open arms. I love you, Jack. You were one in a million. Thank-you for finding me ten years ago. Jack went to Heaven on Memorial Day at Cobb Emergency at 10am. Thank-you, Kevin, Jane, Matt, Stephen, and staff, as they have been there for many of my furbabies. – Stephanie Silvers

benji was daddy and mommys little boy,we got him in dec of 2005 for christmas.he was the sweetest and loveable little boy in the whole wide world. He knew how to get his way from the beginning to the end,he would pout and go under the bed and would not come out till he got his way. When we had to go to doctor appt he would lay on the couch and wait for us,and when we returned he would meet us at the door and give us all the kisses we could take. When we went to the store we told him we would bring him a suprise, when we got back with the bags and set them down on the floor he would go through each bag to find his prize and then he was happy. Benji has his own room which we fixed up for him with t.v. and his bed and then his daddy moved in with him. He slept with his daddy sometimes and in his bed sometimes. The last two weeks Benji wanted to sleep with mommy. We know he was trying to tell us something on tuesday when he would come to us and crawl up in our lap.Befor that he would come up to us and kiss us in a different way and we knew he wanted to eat or a treat.Benji loved his baby sissy!s. He loved to play with the babies and his bigger sissys. Now that GOD has taken you away we have a empty place in our hearts and in our home,he will never be replaced.
We would like to thank Dr.Boozer at cobb internal medicine and DR.AIKEN at Bullards Hospital in Austell.

You joined our family in 2000. What an awesome buddy you’ve always been to us and to our many friends. You became the star of every get-together that we ever hosted. “Where’s Fluff?” was the traditional greeting our guests would bestow on us, only when you hadn’t already greeted them before we could, as if they were each your best friend.
We’ll miss your comforting presence and the great conversations we frequently had. How will we coordinate wardrobes without you to talk us through it each morning? And what can possibly take the place of your biscuit making marathons regardless of the time of day (or night)?
You were, quite simply, the best of the best. Thank you for all the love you gave to us and for always making each day better, just by being present. You will always be incomparable. That’s just who you were to us, and to all those who ever met you.
Friendship forever buddy,
Paul

My name was Skippy and I was a Terrier/Schnauzer mix. I was 13 years old and hailed from the great state of Minnesota. I was adopted as a puppy and my buddy there was a boy named Patrick, who shared his bed with me and I followed him everywhere. One day, my mom’s sister Molly and her husband adopted me and I moved to Georgia to live with them in 2006. When I got here I hated cats with a passion and guess what lived with my new parents? Yup…a cat. After a few months we learned to get along and over time we became best friends, often sleeping next to each other and looking out the window together. Don’t get me wrong, I still hated cats, I just didn’t hate this cat.
I loved to chase my toys and not give them back. If mom went to bed, guess who was there too? Yup…me. I hated the UPS truck and went ballistic if the doorbell rang. If you came to my house I would bark at you incessantly, but once I learned you were a friend, I would shower you with lickin’s and follow you everywhere. I loved going for walks and rides in the car. I would bark at people 3 blocks away but my favorite was singing in the car if I heard a siren. I really was a good singer.
If I could list all my favorite foods, we’d be here for a week, but some of my favorites were carrots, fried eggs, grilled zucchini, cherry tomatoes, pizza, Doritos, Cheetos and popcorn. But my favorite was when my dad would make me a salad, complete with tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, cucumbers and dressing. My parents also grew a garden and they would always give me the first cherry tomato every year. I would sit right next to dad or mom when they picked tomatoes hoping one would fall…and one always did. Imagine that?
Oh well, I had fun and I hope I get to see everyone again sometime. 13 years is a long time in dog years and I enjoyed all of them. I just hope there are tomatoes and carrots where I am going and a good and loud UPS truck I can bark at and chase. Bye, everyone.
Love,
Skip the Dog
2000-3/27/2013
P.S. Mom, if I were there I would lick your tears like I always did when you got sad. Sorry I am not there this time.

Our Little Angel Keara was twelve years old when she passed on Saturday March 30th, 2013. She was a human at heart, and the sweetest dog you would ever come in to contact with. She loved to hunt, eat , and enjoy everyday life with her family and her little but BIG sister. She will be deeply missed not only by her family, but by her 4 year old doggy sister who is four years of age and is 145 pounds. Life without her big sisters Keara has been very devastating. Keara was born in Florida the same day as my dads birthday. My uncle knew when he picked her out that she would be the perfect fit, and boy did he know! She loved to go on rides, walks, and swimming in her baby pool. However, she was terrified of thunderstorms and vacuums. As she got older in age her go to place was her stroller, and multiple beds around the house to keep her comfortable. Keara will be deeply missed, and we thank God for all the time that we had with her on earth.

Our big boy Blue (AKA Go-Go, Scooter) left us on March 8 2013. Blue was born in the Lemoore CA area on July 28 1999. Cheryl found Blue, or should we say Blue found Cheryl at the local Lemoore CA pet store when she went to the store with Joseph, her son, for salt water fish supplies. Blue charmed Cheryl with his baby blue eyes and mostly spotless little body. Blue’s eyes were always a draw to people, baby blue with natural black eyeliner. Right down to the last people to see Blue alive, this guy got noticed for his beautiful looks.
For over 13 years we were blessed to have Blue as part of our lives. He brought a smile to each day with his warm greetings, attention, and goofy ways. He loved everyone including other animals and children. Many times children were curious of him because of the famous Disney movie. He would gladly allow children to approach with his gentle way and allow them to touch him.
Blue was quite the terrorizer for the first few years. When we got Blue we also had Luke, a Doberman that was 11 years old. We could not keep Blue from tearing up the bed in the garage where he and Luke slept. We don’t recall how many blankets and pads Blue shredded. One of the beds we had was a large lounge chair pad. It did actually last a few weeks. But during a week when we were taking an evening cooking class that was held three nights in a row, we guessed that Blue must have got a little tired of us not being home. When we opened the garage door on that third night it looked like it had snowed in our garage. The pad was shredded in hundreds of pieces. When we confronted the dogs, Luke gave the look like it was not me, it was that little #$@%, and swiftly made his exit with his tail tucked between his legs.
We think Blue’s favorite food was fresh tomatoes. Every year we planted a garden and Blue would go on patrol for ripening fruit. He would get into the garden and come out with bright green tomato juice all over his face from picking through the plants. Most years we think Blue ate more tomatoes from the garden than we did.

In the summer of 2001, our son Austin (9 years old) asked for a kitty. Not really wanting have a kitty, I told him that the kitty would have to land in my lap for us to consider keeping one. It was shortly after that conversation, that I was getting my hair cut at a friends house when she said ‘our cat had kittens, would you like one’? Oh, no the kitty that feel in my lap ! Austin had 3 kittens to choose from, two orange and one black. I tried to explain to him it would be best for the kitten to choose him, so we went to the store to buy kitty supplies and when we returned, the black kitty was waiting on the garden steps for Austin while the two orange kitty’s played in the tall grass. As we passed CiCi’s Pizza, Austin named her CiCi! She never cried all the way home and became an important part of our family always following one of us around the house or on patrol outside when we were in the yard or reading in the sun. She brought us many birds, lizards, chipmunks and even a baby rabbit that my husband managed to save and release back to the yard … hated to chew her out for bringing us such prizes! Only once, did she walk beyond our property line by herself. We had walked to the mailbox and she decided to go across the street, alone! I sat and waited for her to get it out of her system and sure enough she returned running as quickly as she could to the safety of our garage. Our ‘Purrr Machine’ brought us all much joy and companionship. CiCi girl loved to be brushed and drink water from the faucet. In her honor, we will spread her ashes in our garden. Her spirit will always live in our hearts and we are grateful to God that she choose Austin! Passed on, no longer in pain and waiting at Rainbow Bridge, March 11, 2013.
